VCF Security Services Platform (SSP) / vDefend Advanced Threat Protection – Part 2.5 (Bugfix)
Before we proceed further with the VVS Implementation, Broadcom has released a support bulletin for SSP Workload Cluster Instability which impacts SSP version 5.1.
I’m seeing the same behaviour in my lab, so I’ll be applying this patch to the cluster before proceeding. There’s 2 KB articles we need to review, and it is advised to work with Broadcom Support to implement the fix.
KB#417131

We’ll see this in the vCenter Task Log:

The KB includes a script, contact Broadcom Support for usage/walkthrough instructions.
KB#425275
The second KB has quite a few steps to check the deployed pods & worker nodes. Some settings will be updated, possible database purges then worker-node redeployment. Again, this requires assistance from Broadcom Support.
I’ve implemented both of these workarounds now, so hopefully I’ll see some more stability with the control plane (although this may also be caused by insufficient resources in my lab – we’ll see!)
