VCF 9.1 – What’s New? HCX Deployment

VCF 9.1 can now deploy HCX Appliances and manage the lifecycle via VCF Operations.
In this post I’ll demonstrate the process, and in a followup I’ll show the process to link two sites for workload migration.

First up, we’ll deploy – note that all IPs/Hostnames are conforming to the Holodeck standard.

Step 1 – we’ll need to download the installer binary from the depot:

Then browse to Build / Lifecycle then select your VCF Instance / Component Versions / Manage Components

When the deployment completes, we’ll see the HCX listed in the domain components.

Simple as that, I’ll repeat this process for site-b.vcf.lab and in the next post we’ll see how to connect the two sites and migrate a workload!
